The New England Revolution unveiled plans for an approximately 25,000-seat world-class stadium and a nearly 4-acre waterfront park along the Mystic River in Everett, MA that will be open to members of the public year-round. The current site, an environmentally contaminated decommissioned power station, is poised to become a valuable community resource, pending regulatory approvals. The development will provide a dedicated venue for Revolution home matches and function as a regional hub for community events and concerts, enhancing accessibility for fans and residents alike.
The City of Everett has historically borne the burden of local industrial activities with the second-highest percentage of industrial-zoned land among municipalities surrounding Boston. Residents of the area have been deprived of public access to the Mystic River waterfront for decades.
Additionally, there are 31 environmental justice populations located within 1 mile of the proposed site.
By delivering the stadium and revitalized waterfront to area residents, the initiative promises recreational spaces with multicultural programming, accessible and multilingual features, and inclusive events. The Revolution organization pledges continued collaboration with local stakeholders to maximize community benefits.
